How and why these games are made
A great deal of thought, care and hard work has gone into building Airava — from the worlds and characters to the stories, gameplay, interactions and the little details that make the experience work for a young child.
We believe games for very young children should invite curiosity, not create pressure. There are no scores to lose, no timers a child can see, and no way to fail. A child can explore at their own pace, try things, ask for help and simply enjoy being in the world.
The games are built for two- to five-year-olds and are being tested with real families. Everything a child touches is deliberate. When they're stuck, an animal shows them where to look — asking for help is part of the game, not a punishment for needing it.
Dozy Time™ and the Dozy Timer™
We also wanted to change the way play ends. A grown-up sets the Dozy Timer™ before their child begins, and the child doesn't experience a sudden game-over. Five minutes before it runs out, Dozy Time™ begins: the characters get sleepy, one by one, until they settle down for the night. If they are somewhere that isn't a good place to sleep, they find somewhere safer first. The game gets to say goodnight, rather than the parent having to be the one who takes it away.
The two names are for two different things. The Dozy Timer is what a grown-up sets. Dozy Time is what happens in the world when it runs out. We made both, and we made them because we could not find them anywhere else.
The stories are the ones many Indian children grew up inside. If you were one of them, we hope you enjoy passing them on. If you were not, we would love for you to discover this world and share it with your children.
Everything that goes into the games is considered, selected and checked by us. We think carefully about what a child should see, hear and do, how a parent should experience the game alongside them, and how these familiar stories can be introduced with warmth, curiosity and joy.
How we make Airava
We use a range of tools and technologies to build Airava, including artificial intelligence. The creative direction, choices, judgement, editing and checking behind what finally reaches your child are ours.
A very small team
Airava is made by a very small team — small enough that the person who answers your email is the person who made the thing you're writing about.
No fund. No investors deciding what your child sees. Just a small team building something we care about.
